Kyl, my rogue was never going to be leveled, and he'd become my permanent bank-alt. That is, until I invited a friend to play using the Recruit a Friend program. Then, I started leveling him up, and though we've only played together a handful of nights a week, we leveled fast. Last night, I was 53 and he was 57. He used the "gift a level" feature to grant me the 4 levels difference, and we went to Eastern Plaguelands. There, we leveled to 58, and then bid adieu to the old world, binding in Shattrath and starting our Outland questing. Quickly, we leveled up to 60 and turned in our last quest, dinging 60 with the acquisition of a nice blue chest item from the Base of the Citadel quest.
Then, we had nothing better to do with his extra Recruit a Friend levels, so he granted my 22 warlock 12 more levels within a few seconds. We laughed about it, and joked that it had been a long night of much grinding, but in reality this is sheer genius on the part of Blizzard. They've managed to make it fun and rewarding to help your friends level up and play the game. Why the heck not!
Meanwhile, I'm going to take a long break and then go play some more tomorrow night ;-)
